Phone Number: Biography: Gennady (pronounced with a hard “G”) Burakovsky has been with the DHAC since 2010 after previously serving as the Head Professional at the Boston Athletic Club. He has coached an extensive range of players, from novice and nationally ranked juniors to mens’ and womens’ league teams. As a player, he was a two-time captain at the University of Chicago, playing both #1 singles and doubles. After college, he played in the USTA New England men’s open division and finished in the top eight for six straight years before solely focusing on his teaching career. He has been an assistant coach with the Boston College Men’s Tennis team since 2004 and has helped coach the team against Big East, Ivy League, and ACC opponents. During the summer, he has served as the Director of Tennis for the Great Island Yacht Club in West Yarmouth, MA since 2005. He is a USPTA Elite Professional and is USRSA certified and owns Your Advantage Tennis Shop in Sharon, MA. He and his wife, a former college player herself, enjoy spending time outdoors, usually chasing after their two young kids.
