Johns Hopkins Summer University is your chance to put Hopkins’ undergraduate programs—and yourself—to the test before applying to college. You’ll get an opportunity to see if Hopkins feels right for you, and we’ll get to know you better, too. Program credits also give you an edge on the competition when you begin applying to colleges. In fact, the credits you earn at Hopkins are transferable to other colleges and universities. The number of transfer credits awarded is determined by the institution, so students should contact their prospective college for more information on their transfer policy. Get started today by applying online or find out if you're eligible or pre-certified. Financial aid is available as need-based partial tuition grants. ACADEMICS The Johns Hopkins Summer University Program offers qualified high school students the opportunity to take freshman- and sophomore-level credit classes in arts and sciences and engineering. The program lasts 5 weeks and residential students must be full-time students and enroll in two classes, for up to seven credits. Commuter students may register part-time (one class) or take the full two-course load. With over 100 courses being offered this summer, your schedule is about choice. Select courses in your desired college major or diversify your interests by selecting a new language or humanities class. Regardless of your choice of courses, Hopkins’ Summer University Program connects you with great minds. You have the opportunity to engage in discussions and study with academically talented students and Hopkins’ own distinguished faculty.
