After a week preparing and previewing marine science exploration, campers will board a schooner and set sail as part of the crew! Under the captain and crew’s guidance, you will be at the will of the wind for a five-day, four-night excursion to explore New England’s coastal waters. As a part of the crew, campers will learn how to set sails, steer, plot the ship’s course, and even do daily chores. Campers will also learn how scientists identify fish species, sample water, study plankton, and monitor whale behavior onboard a boat. Examine food webs, life cycles, and the rich biodiversity of the Gulf of Maine, especially the unique ecosystem of Stellwagen Bank! Short in length but not in content! Discover Hopkins Programs are intensive programs designed to expose you to topics from different perspectives. For instance, observe top researchers and listen to experts at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, as you survey the latest in environmental health. Instructors will lead you through your topic with a morning lecture. The experts captivate your afternoons--faculty, alumni, and other guest speakers who are leading researchers or practitioners on the subject. We don't stop here--we enhance your learning of the topic with a variety of guided field trips in Maryland, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, Virginia, or West Virginia. The Discover Hopkins Programs are open to both residential and commuter students. Students register for one course (1cr) per session, and may enroll in up to 3 sessions (6 weeks). Students choose the session or sessions that best fits their schedule.

Coming to the Language Villages for a summer language immersion program is just like entering a new country. You’ll get your Village passport stamped at customs, receive your cabin assignment, and help us determine your language proficiency (don’t worry—no experience required!). The Francis College of Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Lowell is excited to host two, overnight, week-long summer camps for high school students. Discover the amazing world of engineering through hands-on projects and interactions with students, faculty, staff and alumni!

Founded in 1984, Camp Sunshine provides retreats combining respite, recreation and support, while enabling hope and promoting joy, for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families through the various stages of a child’s illness. Camp Sunshine is the only program in the nation offered year-round with the distinction of having been designed to serve the entire family in a retreat model. The program is free of charge to families and includes on-site medical and psychosocial support. Bereavement sessions are also offered for families who have experienced the death of a child from a supported illness. Volunteers spend 4-5 days at camp working in one of a variety of locations including: with campers ages 0-12, arts and crafts, waterfront, food service and more. From the end of June to the end of August, Camp Jabberwocky offers children and adults with a wide range of disabilities the chance to enjoy the summer in a small family-like community – living together and enjoying jam-packed days filled with adventurous activities and experiences that are safe, empowering, exciting and fun. Campers stay between one and four weeks during which they enjoy activities and classes on campus and out and about in the community of Martha’s Vineyard. At Jabberwocky, people with different abilities form the majority in the community. Their needs become priority needs; their concerns become concerns. And in this age, when cultural and individual sense of belonging is waning, a community that works is a light of hope. Camp is the sum of all its parts! It is a strong community of people who work together, take initiative and have a lot of fun in the process. A counselor’s biggest and most important responsibility are the campers and their daily care. Each counselor is also assigned a chore that usually occurs once a day such as: cleaning bathrooms, making lunch, mopping the main cabin floors, dishes, laundry, setting tables, clearing tables and more. Counselors and campers teach the morning classes so bring your special talent and teach us all about it!

Nobles Day Camp is a fun and caring camp community dedicated to a quality summer enrichment program. Campers develop and practice life skills through experiential, engaging activities that build independence and self-confidence in a non-competitive atmosphere. Through the group process and involvement with positive role models, campers learn to appreciate their environment, respect the rights of others, take positive risks and develop long lasting friendships with peers and adults.

Nobles offers several specialty programs run by outstanding faculty and coaches from Nobles and beyond. These programs are geared toward older kids, with the goal of giving kids access to outstanding teaching and coaching. Our Specialty Camp Programs are designed to be stand alone weeks of camp. They include: volleyball, soccer, wrestling, basketball and football.

The Summer S&C Program is geared for the highly motivated and dedicated athlete who wants to improve their sports performance. This will be accomplished by working on a number of modalities. The Hang Clean will be taught so the athlete increases explosive power and also enhances intermuscular and intramuscular coordination. The Back Squat, Front Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift will also be taught to build the athlete’s strength levels. There will be a number of general weight lifting exercises used to increase muscular hypertrophy and nullify any muscular imbalances that may exist. Proper running and change of direction mechanics will be taught and implemented in a variety of drills to increase speed and agility. Conditioning drills will be performed to increase cardiovascular and VO2 max levels. Prehab and injury prevention exercises will be used to help avoid injuries specific to the athlete or their sport. Static stretching, dynamic stretching, and self myofascial release methods will be utilized to help improve mobility and flexibility. This program is offered on a weekly basis. No minimum required.

The Future Latino Leaders Law Camp is designed to provide Latino high school students like you with the opportunity to learn more about the legal profession. This year, the Law Camp will take place from July 7-15, 2018, in Washington, D.C. All participants will stay on the George Washington University Thurston Hall campus and be chaperoned by adult law school students and HNBF staff. Throughout the week, students will engage in workshops on leadership and receive legal instruction in preparation for the Mock Trial. Students will have the opportunity to meet with lawyers, judges, and officials of the United States government and learn about their career paths.

Camp Counselors at the Boston College Recreational Day Camp are responsible for supervising a group of children between the ages of 7-12. Essential job functions include planning and facilitating daily activities, managing behavior, and ensuring the children’s safety at all times while acting as a positive role model. Camp activities include active games, board games, crafts, swimming, and various themed activities. Each counselor will work 4-8 hours each day between the hours of 8:00am and 6:00pm, Monday-Friday, during the 6 weeks of camp. ArcStart is a three-week long residential program for high school students that offers students the opportunity to explore the built environment firsthand through an introduction to architectural design. Participants will experience the rewarding intensity of an engaging college architecture studio, partake in skill-building workshops that reinforce analytical and conceptual problem solving skills, and visit architecturally significant projects in Ann Arbor and the immediate region. Over the course of the program, students will witness how a design education prepares students to engage the world around them within the context of a rigorous academic setting at a leading design institution. Students will engage in thought provoking discussions that challenge their understanding of architectural design and push them to think more broadly about space and the built environment. The curriculum is aimed at introducing and enhancing a wide variety of skill sets including hand drawing, model making, diagramming, photography, and sketching. Students will employ a variety of digital and analog tools to aid in the design process of their own projects and will also be introduced to the possibilities of advanced 2D and 3D modeling and printing facilities at the college's advanced Digital Fabrication Lab.

Young Writers Workshop provides an in-depth introduction to all four genres of creative writing: fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and writing for stage and screen. Modeled on Gettysburg College’s highly successful gateway course, Introduction to Creative Writing, and taught by the college's own senior faculty in creative writing, Young Writers Workshop offers a constantly engaging, hands-on experience in how to write and how to talk about writing. We believe talent can be taught! Developing writers need technique and inspiration. This is why we, at Gettysburg College Summer Young Writers Workshop, have created an intellectual and physical space for high school students to gather around texts, to study with publishing writers, to learn the art of inspiration, and to write and perform their own work with new friends and peers.

The goal of Camp Psych is to provide a window into how psychological science works . What are some of the major questions investigated by psychologists? Campers will get hands-on experiences that introduce them to research in psychology in a fun, challenging, and engaging environment. Campers will not simply learn about cutting edge issues and research in psychology; they will engage in research themselves . Perfect for students interested in psychology, this camp gives students an insider view of the field as well as preparation for college studies .

3D OBJECT MODELING & PRINTING Campers will learn the process of 3D printing from initial design to final print. They will utilize their creativity to design and build multiple objects, including their own miniature city. This is a novice level course with no previous 3D object modeling or printing knowledge needed. CODING FOR ROBOTICS & ELECTRONICS Campers will gain hands-on experience in coding, wiring, hardware, and building robots through the open source software and hardware system known as Arduino. This camp is an introduction into the world of coding robotics and electronics.

The School of Fashion Design's pre-college workshops in fashion design for high school students. Beginner and advanced levels available. SFD Teen Fashion Clinics are divided into two sections: 1. Fashion Art: color & design, figure drawing, fashion sketching, portfolio presentation; and 2. Fashion Design: clothing construction, pattern manipulation, fabric selection, sewing fundamentals, pressing, and finishing. SFD TEEN FASHION CLINICS ARE EXCLUSIVELY FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS Who may be considering a career objective of professional fashion design; Who want to explore aspects of fashion design, or explore their interests and talents in fashion before committing to a full college program; Whose high school program may not include art and/or sewing classes; Who may want/need to formulate (for possible college or job applications) a portfolio of both fashion drawings and sewing projects; Who are simply be interested in fashion design as an avocation (hobby, craft, relaxation, etc.); TUITION: $850 payable in full at least one full week before start of session.

We offer two NYC Fashion Summer Camps for high school students. They are designed for teens entering 9th through 12th grades. Each week-long session will teach the students the fundamentals of the fashion industry by providing an insider's perspective. The students will stay at the LIM College Residence Hall on the Upper Eastside. Each morning the group will be picked up at the dorm by a Banson NYC representative. From there we will depart for our industry visits, seminars and activities of the day. Each evening will have group activities planned. Enrollment is limited to 20 campers per session. We accept applications on a first come, first served basis. The NYC Fashion Summer Camp allows students interested in fashion the opportunity to get a jumpstart on their career aspirations by determining if this is the direction that they want to pursue. During the tour they might meet a fashion designer in his/her studio, get an in-depth tour of one of the world's most recognized premium lifestyle brands, have a private tour of a premier specialty/department store before it opens to the public or visit a mega fabric store that is actively involved in the latest reality television programs like Project Runway.
