Camp Counselors at the Boston College Recreational Day Camp are responsible for supervising a group of children between the ages of 7-12. Essential job functions include planning and facilitating daily activities, managing behavior, and ensuring the children’s safety at all times while acting as a positive role model. Camp activities include active games, board games, crafts, swimming, and various themed activities. Each counselor will work 4-8 hours each day between the hours of 8:00am and 6:00pm, Monday-Friday, during the 6 weeks of camp. The ideal candidate is both energetic and enthusiastic, but also responsible with strong communication skills. Requirements At least 16 years of age Previous experience working with children in a recreational, educational, and/or large group setting Current American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and First Aid Certification (Class will be provided, if needed) Ability to pass the Campus Recreation swim test Committed to work 30 hours per week for 6 weeks: June 25 – August 3, 2018 Ability to attend mandatory training & orientation June 18 – June 22, 2018 Starting pay rate: $12.00 To apply, e-mail the following materials to bcreccamp@bc.edu: Formal resumé listing 5 years of work experience with children Three (3) positive letters of reference from non-family members Copies of Certifications
