Adam Balogh is a lifelong rowing enthusiast who is enjoying his career as rowing coach following a 25-year career in environmental consulting. Adam has coached the Nobles Boys Novice and lower Varsity boats and steered the Nobles crews to podium finishes in each boat at the 2019 NEIRA championships (silver – 2V; bronze-1V, 3V, and 4V) and a gold medal finish at the 2018 National Schools’ Championship Regatta. Adam also coaches at the Cambridge Boat Club High-Performance Summer Program, with numerous finalist crews and three gold medal finishes at Royal Canadian Henley Regatta. In international competition, Adam coached the US M1x and US M2- at the 2018 World University Rowing Championships in Shanghai, China, and was the coach of the Bermuda M1x entry at the 2019 World Rowing Championships in Linz, Austria. Adam first started rowing when he was a student at BB&N. He was the stroke of the US U19 8+ competing at the World Rowing Junior Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. He was a three-year varsity letter winner and Captain of the University of Pennsylvania Heavyweight Crew, and a two-time silver medalist at the IRA National Championships. Adam was selected to the 1983 Olympic Development camp and won gold at the National Sports Festival in Colorado Springs, CO. In 1985, he won gold in the LM4+ at the US Elite National Championships in Oak Ridge, TN. He has raced in the Princess Elizabeth Cup and Grand Challenge Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta. Adam lists as influential coaches: Charley Butt, Sr, Ted Nash, and Stan Bergman. Adam continues as a competitive masters athlete and has won numerous races at US Masters Nationals, FISA Master World Championships, Heineken Roeivierkamp, Head of Schuylkill and the Head of the Charles Regatta.
