Running Start
Running Start is a nonpartisan nonprofit that trains young women to run for public office. We’re empowering young women to get involved in politics and transform our world, one elected female leader at a time. We offer programs that equip them with the hands on skills and confidence they need to run and win. With over 100 training programs across the country, we've trained over 20,000 women (and counting!). And because we're nonpartisan, we're achieving this in the spirit of fellowship while focusing on building stronger community for young women who want to lead. Join us for a month-long training where you will participate in a campaign simulation, learn from high-level mentors, and meet with Members of Congress.

MIT
Research Science Internships
Each summer, 80 of the world's most accomplished high school students gather at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for the Research Science Institute (RSI). RSI is the first cost-free to students, summer science & engineering program to combine on-campus course work in scientific theory with off-campus work in science and technology research. Participants experience the entire research cycle from start to finish. They read the most current literature in their field, draft and execute a detailed research plan, and deliver conference-style oral and written reports on their findings. RSI scholars first participate in a week of intensive STEM classes with accomplished professors. The heart of RSI is the five week research internship where students conduct individual projects under the tutelage of mentors who are experienced scientists and researchers. During the final week of RSI, students prepare written and oral presentations on their research projects.

Powerhouse Theater Training Program
The Powerhouse Theater Training Program challenges you to look at the art of theater in new and meaningful ways. Explore the boundaries of theater by living, breathing, and creating theater with peers and professionals alike. A summer at Powerhouse provides you with an experience that will inform the rest of your life. The program is the result of a unique collaboration between Vassar College, a prestigious liberal arts institution in Dutchess County, New York, and New York Stage and Film, an established professional theater company. It’s an exhilarating environment. Everyone who is part of the theater community is here to do “the work,” and that is what everyone talks about during meals and late into the night. As one student said, “You can always sleep later.” Make your summer one to remember by being a part of our 33rd season and help bring great new theater to the world.
